Myopia
Also known as nearsightedness, this is a common condition where objects in the distance are blurry or disoriented due to an elongated eye.
Hyperopia
The inverse of myopia, this condition, also known as farsightedness, occurs when your eyes are unusually flat. This causes you to see distant objects clearly, but closer objects appear blurry.
Astigmatism
This condition is caused when the shape of your eye’s cornea is irregular, resulting in blurry vision.
Presbyopia
As we age, the eye’s natural lens develops this condition, causing a gradual loss of the ability to focus on nearby objects.

Exceptional LASIK Alternatives
Not all patients are suitable candidates for lifechanging LASIK surgery, but you don’t need to be discouraged, because DLV Vision offers other options for our patients. We want to help improve the vision of as many patients as possible, which is why our practice is also skilled in EVO ICL, RLE, and PRK surgeries.
EVO ICL
Implantable contact lenses are artificial lenses that are surgically inserted into your eye, like a contact lens you’ll never need to change. Even better, it causes minimal to no dry eye symptoms, and if your vision ever changes, we can replace or even remove them later in life.
RLE
Refractive lens exchange (RLE) is a corrective vision surgery which certain patients may find as a better option for enhancing their vision than LASIK. Similar to cataract surgery, we’ll replace your eye’s lens with an artificial, vision-enhancing lens to correct your eyesight — and prevent cataracts from ever forming!
PRK
Shorthand for photorefractive keratectomy, this is a common corrective surgery that is a good option for patients who aren’t qualified for LASIK but want nearly identical results. PRK surgery is an ideal alternative corrective surgery for patients with thinner corneas or extremely active lifestyles.

My first consultation appointment was in December, and Dr. Dougherty spent 30 minutes on the phone with my parents walking through options afterwards (we decided I’d go with evo ICL instead of LASIK due to my thin corneas and dry eyes). Dr. Dougherty made me feel truly looked after and comfortable! After my consultation I went out of town for a few months so I had to push back my surgery. Christina did an amazing job helping coordinate, arranging pre-op and post-op appointments, and getting me all the info I needed! The entire DLV team was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The procedure itself wasn’t painful (I just felt pressure) and the recovery was quick.
