The Dougherty Laser Vision Clinical Research Internship gives undergraduate students earning a four-year degree the opportunity to participate in both research and clinical patient care at a laser vision center. This program is designed for students who are interested in a career in medicine and research. Participants will assist in completing a research study under the directorship of a research mentor and also directly observe clinical patient care while spending time with ophthalmologists and optometrists.

We are looking for an Ophthalmic Technician to be responsible for daily patient care and flow of clinic activities. This position requires a good understanding of ophthalmic practice and patient care. Knowledge of medical instrumentation and its proper care and usage needed. Ability to assess common safety hazards and take precautions to establish a safe work environment required. Ability to communicate with patients, co-workers and manager is critical. Must be willing to help in all areas and understand the need for efficient use of time. The ability to refract using a phoropter is preferred but not required.

We are looking for a scrub tech/surgical assistant to help with the preparation of operating rooms, preparation of patients before surgery, and post-surgery clean-up and prep. In preparing operating rooms, scrub tech ensures that all of the equipment needed for the procedure is properly disinfected, assembled and that the equipment is in working order. Certified Service Technician preferred.
