Andrew Dougherty Vision Foundation

We’re proud to share that Dr. Paul J. Dougherty, our Medical Director and the founder of the Andrew Dougherty Vision Foundation, has received the California Medical Association’s 2026 Compassionate Service Award. The honor recognizes physicians who have made charity care a lasting part of their work.

For Dr. Dougherty, that work has spanned more than 30 years. Through the foundation, he and our team have restored sight for patients in Morocco, Costa Rica, Haiti and beyond. Here at home, they’ve provided free care to uninsured patients, veterans and neighbors experiencing homelessness. This recognition belongs to everyone who has supported that mission along the way.

Donations given to the World Vision Project allow us provide the highest quality vision correction surgery and critical medical care to the poor, disabled, and elderly in countries like Palestine, Lebanon, Haiti, and the United States.

Here is a partial list of what your donations go toward at the World Vision Project:

• Surgical supplies
• Provide travel stipends to the volunteer surgical teams
• Custom fees and medical permits
• All necessary insurances for the “5 Day Missions”
• Educational programs for both the surgeons and the patients alike
