Toric ICL: A New Option for Clear Vision for Those With Astigmatism
Astigmatism is a common vision condition that results in blurred vision due to an irregularly shaped cornea. Most people with astigmatism have been unable to undergo LASIK surgery due to procedure inhibitions and guidelines. Now the new Toric Implantable Contact Lens procedure, designed for patients with astigmatism, will be able to improve and correct the vision of such patients. This is a huge step forward in the field laser vision correction and those experiencing astigmatism.
Dr. Paul Dougherty of Dougherty Laser Vision is the first surgeon to perform the new procedure in the state of California. DLV Vision is providing the new FDA approved procedure at all of their locations. One of the first patients, Paola Vega, has just successfully undergone the treatment. She is now astigmatism-free and is absolutely delighted with the ability to read and see more clearly.
