Dr. Dougherty is a renowned vision correction surgeon who has performed more than 40,000 laser eye procedures and is an outspoken advocate and educator in the ophthalmology industry. Dr. Dougherty has long been considered a leader in his field, and has even performed investigational corrective laser surgeries before the procedure was approved by the FDA in 1995. He also has firsthand experience with corrective laser surgery, as he is one of the few surgeons to have undergone the procedure himself. He has also performed more than 2,000 ICL implants, the most in Ventura County.

Although the surgeons are capable and have good bedside manners, the office is HIGHLY disorganized. Prepare to wait OVER an hour at every appt. Also don’t rely on prescriptions being called in. This place is run like a factory which is fine but they drop the ball at multiple points and are truly focused on profits. I’d avoid this place if you can. While the first visit will be nice you really see the inadequacy in every follow-up visit. You’ll hear multiple excuses but having been in the medical field I can clearly “see” they are overbooking and not responsive. I would never recommend this place.
Dr Chen was very good and took a lot of time explaining my options. I will definitely have him preform my procedure.

Very disappointed with my entire experience with DLV from my patient counselor to after care (painful dry eye). Dr. Balakrishnan never informed me there was a special light adjustable lens for people who have had lasix in the past. She did my cataract surgery, implanted the premium lens she recommended, and I got what they call a “refractive surprise”. My vision is not as good as I had hoped and the flares around lights at night is still an issue - I’m stuck with it for the rest of my life. I suggest you consult with Dr. Shamie at the The Maloney Shamie Institute on Wishire in Westwood. They are state of the art, highly professional, the entire experience there was first class from evaluation to after care. The drive may be slightly longer but worth it. Don’t compromise with your eyes.
Top notch doctors and staff!!! It can be difficult, at best, to get my mom to agree to any doctor visit these days. Never a problem when I let her know she's headed to an appointment with Dr. V! He is very meticulous and thorough, as well as super kind. The staff are very efficient and pleasant, too! We wouldn't hesitate to refer family and friends!

Arrived at 9:00am for my 9:10am appointment. Seen by the nurse at 9:30am, then taken back to the lobby to wait for the doctor. They took me back at 10:25am and the doctor came in at 11:10am and he had to do all the tests over that the nurse had done. I left at 11:45am. My job does not pay for the 3 hours that I was out of the office. They should not over book themselves.
DLV Vision is the best! Dr. Chen is a great glaucoma specialist and his staff is topnotch. The office is attractive and the wait time is excellent. Helpful desk staff too. I heartily recommend DLV for all your visual needs.

Back in 2006 I had my last eye surgery with DLV. Just recently I went in for a check up and I’m still doing good after all these years. Laser eye surgery was the best self improvement procedure I’ve ever done for myself. No contacts now for many years.

Dougherty Laser Vision is amazing.The front desk receptionist’s are very nice and helps you with any needs that you might have.You are taken back shorty with your appointment time. The office is very clean and offers coffee you get from a Keurig or cold water. The girls in the reception area look like they don’t like their job, their faces are filled with bornes. I get to my surgery at 9am and it’s 4pm and I have not left. Recommendation bring lunch and dinner because you will be here all day.
I brought my 96 yo MIL to Dr. Vosoghi to try to maintain what sight she has left as much as possible. His staff is incredible and compassionate as is he. He put us on a regimen and I just took her in for her followup appointment where he was extremely happy with the results. We are very thankful for him and look forward to her next appointment in 2024!
Dr Asha is personable, answers all the questions, and is very knowledgeable. Her staff is professional. They give different options and explain the differences. The biggest drawback are the wait times. Just between the consultation and preop appointments, I spent 5 hours there, which is worse service levels than the DMV. No apologies so maybe it’s normal for them, but not normal at other vision centers. They also use paper in 2023 to capture patient info 🤯 Billing is funky.
AVOID DLV AT ALL COSTS... Soon after my cataract surgery that included a lens replacement my vitreous detached causing serious damage to my retina and the inability to see clearly. Dr. Dougherty has failed to consult with me following my surgery and detached vitreous. Now I'm dealing with yet another issue to restore my sight. I honestly believe DLV is more concerned with patient count than patient care. Extremely disappointed!

Dr. Vosoghi is amazing as well as his staff. I tend to be an anxious patient, and they are always very understanding of this and put me at ease.
Dr. Vosoghi and his team took care of my son in a very professional way. He was seen in a timely manner and the nurses/technicians kept explaining the procedures and answering our questions. I am not writing this from the perspective of a patient- but a patient’s partner and medical professional. I have never seen a healthcare practice this disorganized and poorly run.1) They call to schedule the time of the surgery the day before, expecting you to take the whole day off of work because they can’t be bothered to make a schedule more than one day in advance.2) The pre-op and LASIK takes 2-2.5 hours. We were there OVER 5 HOURS with no communication, no apology, nobody coming into the room for updates, nothing. We live 10 minutes away and could have easily done other stuff and came back when they were close to being ready. They said that isn’t an option and we have to sit in the room and wait.3) They were so behind schedule they rushed the post-op right after the surgery (not the usual 2-3 hours) and pushed us out the door because it was past their closing time.4) We had the 1-week post-op scheduled at a convenient time and they called one day before and moved it to a Saturday.5) They still use paper.
What a kick in the pants this place was. Went in for blurry vision for a 1030 apt. Taken in at 10:50 . 12:10 comes and i had to leave for another apt . Thing is they gave me drops for dialation which made my visoin even blurrier. So all i did was waste my whole morning and end off in worse condition. I understand Dr was in surgery but still could have been handled better. Cameron was pleasent enough , though. Bummer .

I had LASIK monovision done on my eyes in June of 2020 by Dr Dogherty at Dogherty Laser Eye Vision in Westlake Village. I was told that I would have improved vision for 7-10 years. After the surgery I had dry eyes, at nighttime I would see halos around the headlights of approaching cars and had to wear glasses to minimize this. Both things improved and I had been very happy. I’ve referred the Dr and his office to many friends and anyone else saying they had vision complaints. I told them they would be so happy they did it and that they would be in great hands with this doctor and office.Fast forward to January of 2023, I noticed that my short distance reading eye was fuzzy and no longer able to see or read without squinting. I made an apt to go see the Dr and was told that this was “normal” and that I needed a touch up. Which they wanted me to pay them more money for! . I cannot stress enough that this is not what I was told before the surgery. I would not have spent the amount of money out of pocket because insurance does not cover Lasik. Had I known that my vision would’ve only been improved for 2 1/2 years. I spoke with Maria who is the office manager at Dogherty Laser Eye Vision and she informed me that the doctor would have to be the one that would make the decision on this and that he was out of town, and that she would discuss this with him and get back to me. I have since called her numerous times, and left many voicemails to no avail. I learned my lesson the hard way, do not trust this office. They do not stand behind their work or their patients. It is all about making money, and not about following through with the things that they tell their patients when trying to get them to trust them, give them their money, and have surgery with them.

I now have 20-15 vision and would highly recommend DLV vision to anyone looking to get any kind of eye procedure - they are absolutely incredible!! 🙂

They offered to give me much more information instead of sweeping it under the rug. I was informed about the risks and I feel much more comfortable about the procedure now that I know I’ll be in good hands. I plan on going forth with LASIK soon.
Dr Paul Dougherty did my LASIK recently, and I have to tell you...the experience was nothing short of exquisite. From beginning to end, he walked me through everything and it was seamless. Calm, cool, comfortable. Not to mention the staff made me feel right at home. I wouldn't trust my eyes with anyone else.

I am writing to share my experiences with DLV. My mother now has 20/20 vision. I am so thankful that she was able to have her cataract surgery done with Dr. Chen at DLV, he is wonderful, very thorough very personable and takes his time and explains everything very well. Diana Andre was her patient counselor. She is amazing, kind, patient and took extra special care to help my mother set up all of her appointments, go over all of the insurance info, and help her pick the right technology. She is now completely glasses free for both distance and reading! She is so happy and So am I.
My visit with DLV Vision was amazing. The girls in the front desk were so sweet and greeted me well. My surgery went smoothly and Dr. Balakrishnan as well as the surgical staff that were a part of my surgery were very comforting through it all.

I have now visited several times and each and every experience has been a delight beginning with extremely caring and kind reception to the impeccable credentials for Dr. V who genuinely cares and explains in as much detail as you are interested. My family now also goes here for their eye care.

I had a very short wait until I was brought into the exam room. From there everyone was very professional and explained what is going on with my eyes and also informed me about the tests in detail. When the doctor came in, he was very calming and reassuring that everything was just fine.I didn’t feel rushed and absolutely taken care of.Thank you for this great experience.

My experience getting ICL was hands down the best experience. I wanted to ditch my glasses because they were constantly fogging up while wearing masks all day. And having worn them since I was 8 I felt like I deserved to treat myself.The procedure it self was fairly painless, they offered me mild sedatives for it but I declined. They also recommended I not go to work after but I did.I would however get headaches more frequently than normal but recently found out I just needed reading glasses. I’m sure they warned me about that side effect but it was all such a blur from the excitement.I am about 6 months post op and honestly could not be happier. Dr. D was absolutely incredible you will not regret any procedure offered from them.
