Telemedicine (Telehealth) Eye Care

Telemedicine makes it easy to connect with the expert team at DLV Vision through a secure online consultation—so you can speak with an eye care professional from the comfort of home using your phone, tablet, or computer.

While telemedicine is not a substitute for a comprehensive, in-office eye exam, it can be a helpful first step for certain concerns or a convenient option for select follow-up visits. If your symptoms or goals require testing, imaging, or an in-person evaluation, our team will guide you on the best next steps and help you schedule the appropriate appointment.

What is a Telemedicine Visit?

A telemedicine visit is a secure, one-on-one video appointment with a Dougherty Laser Vision eye care provider using your phone, tablet, or computer—so you can get expert guidance without traveling to the office.

During your visit, your provider may:

  • Review your symptoms and health history
  • Talk through your concerns and treatment options
  • Answer questions about eye conditions or upcoming surgery
  • Recommend next steps, including whether in-office testing or imaging is needed for an accurate diagnosis

All virtual visits are completed through a HIPAA-compliant platform, designed to protect your privacy and keep your personal health information secure.

When DLV Telemedicine Is Right for You

DLV Telemedicine is ideal for discussion-based care, education, and certain follow-ups—especially when an in-person exam or diagnostic testing isn’t required. Virtual visits are often a good fit for:

  • LASIK or vision correction consultations (questions, candidacy discussion, next steps)
  • Reviewing symptoms and general eye health questions
  • Dry eye concerns, allergies, irritation, or eyelid issues
  • Pre-operative education and counseling (what to expect, recovery planning)
  • Post-operative check-ins when in-office testing isn’t needed
  • Medication questions, refills (when appropriate), or side effect concerns

If your symptoms suggest you may need imaging, pressure checks, dilation, or other testing, your provider will recommend an in-office visit and help you schedule the right appointment.
