Steven Anderson, MD - Bio
Steven Anderson, M.D. is a glaucoma and cataract specialist with exceptional experience and training.
He completed his fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology (Anterior Segment Surgery) at UCLA’s Jules Stein Eye Institute and his fellowship in Glaucoma at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Prior to relocating from Detroit to Los Angeles in 2006, Dr. Anderson built a successful private practice where he offered the latest advancements to treat cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetes-related eye problems.
Dr. Anderson was among the first glaucoma specialists in the nation to offer the new SLT (Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty) treatment to stop the progression of glaucoma. SLT is clinically shown to reduce intraocular pressure without causing scarring or other adverse side effects often associated with laser treatment. Dr. Anderson uses SLT as first-line therapy for many glaucoma patients, and points out that it is especially useful for patients who have been treated unsuccessfully with less advanced laser surgery or pressure lowering eye drops.
