Julie Hurd, O.D.
Dr. Hurd provides patients at Dougherty Laser Vision's Camarillo surgery center with preoperative evaluation and postoperative care services. Having had the LASIK procedure performed on her own eyes, Dr. Hurd is uniquely able to relate to her patients' questions and concerns.
Dr. Hurd earned her undergraduate degree in psychobiology at UCLA, and her O.D. (with distinction) from the Southern California College of Optometry. She performed internships at UCLA's Jules Stein Eye Institute and the Veterans Administration Medical Center in West Los Angeles. Her research on a range of ophthalmology issues has been published in leading medical journals.
Dr. Hurd also served as president of the TriCounty Optometric Society, and was honored by her peers as the Young Optometrist of the Year.
